Technical Team
Founded by Saad Benaicha in 2025, the technical team faced a tough start — limited funding and a steep learning curve. But through collaboration and shared creativity, each member contributed designs and ideas that helped us bootstrap our first projects and build momentum.

AS Lyon's first ever plane
Our very first plane was a Pico Talon from Flightory, printed using lightweight PLA to keep it efficient and beginner-friendly. This model played a crucial role in introducing our members to the fundamentals of flight control, including stability, maneuverability, and the role of key components like servos and flight controllers. Beyond just flying, it also served as a hands-on introduction to various 3D printing techniques — from proper print orientation to material selection and weight optimization. The Pico Talon wasn’t just our first plane — it was our first classroom in the sky.

First Crash in June 2025
Every great plane project begins with a crash. That’s what we discovered during our very first test flight. While it didn’t go as planned, it taught us a crucial lesson: testing isn’t a setback — it’s a stepping stone. That initial crash revealed the importance of key components, like a flight controller, and showed us how essential it is to learn, adapt, and improve with every flight.
Aerodynamic Team
The Aerodynamics team designs and optimizes the outer shape of the plane. Its role is to maximize lift in order to carry as much payload as possible, while minimizing drag.

Design and Structures
The Design and Structures design and optimize the interior of the plane. It's primary goal is to make the plane as light as possible, while ensuring the strength and rigidity of the plane structure .

Avionics and Electrical
The Design and Structures team designs and optimizes the interior of the plane. Its primary goal is to make the aircraft as light as possible while ensuring the strength and rigidity of the structure.

Manufacturing team
Manufacturing enables the project to come to life. During the design process, the team ensure that the design is manufacturable. Then, their goal is to build the plane as accurately as possible.
